The vast majority of soaps are made through a high temperature process, which destroys most of the nutrients in the natural ingredients (if any!). Moreover, they often contain some nasty ingredients including (not in this soap):

• Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS): An engine degreaser which can cause eye irritation, permanent damage in children's eyes, skin rashes, hair loss and flaking skin.
• Propylene Glycol: The main ingredient in the manufacture of brake fluid and industrial anti-freeze. It is used in body care products because it glides on smoothly, however it greatly damages and ages the skin. It also causes skin rashes and dryness.
• Fragrance: Almost always refers to a mix of synthetic compounds. Known to cause allergic reactions.
• Parabens: Used as preservatives in many, many products, parabens (such as methyl-, ethyl-, propyl-, butyl-, isobutyl- and others) may be linked to the development of breast cancer.
• Animal ingredients, such as tallow (animal fat) and honey (which is not good if you care for the bees).

In contrast, Raw Gaia’s Rose Geranium Raw Soap is hand-made with organic and cold-pressed oils, infused with essential oil of rose geranium. It is made through a low temperature process (temperatures never go above 40 degrees Celsius), in order to retain the goodness in the ingredients.

The result is a wonderful soap that is gentle and feels so good to use. It is one of the purest soaps you’ll ever find.

Rose Geranium Raw Soap is made with:

• Organic & cold-pressed cocoa (cacao) butter: It helps to repair dry and damaged skin since it helps to regenerate skin cells and restore elasticity thanks to its high levels of antioxidants and minerals.
• Organic & cold-pressed coconut oil: It removes dead skin cells, which helps make the skin smoother and softer.
• Organic & cold-pressed red palm oil (sustainably harvested from Brazil): Rich in vitamin A and E, it is a great skin moisturiser and is also good for healing conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis
• Organic & cold-pressed sunflower oil: Rich in Vitamin E and Linoleic acid, which is essential for cell formation and healthy growth.
• Water
• Organic essential oil of rose geranium: an uplifting and sweet smelling oil, traditionally used in skin care products for its fragrance and cleansing properties.

Ingredients: cold pressed oils of cacao butter (Theobroma cacao), coconut oil (Cocos nucifera), red palm oil (sustainably harvested), sunflower oil (Helianthus annuus) essential oil of rose geranium (Pelargonium graveolens).

Please note that in order to make the soap, the oils need to be saponified by adding sodium hydroxide. There is a chemical reaction that changes the structure of the oil from a liquid into a solid bar. The sodium hydroxide is completely gone once the chemical transformation is finished, so there are no traces left.

Raw Soap is wrapped in biodegradable plastic.

Product care instructions: Do not leave the soap in the shower floor or in the bath, as the hot water will melt the soap.
